EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma and successful for treating panic attacks, anxiety, stress, grief, and depression. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of traditional therapy that once took years to make a difference.  EMDR works by removing blocks or imbalances caused by disturbing events and allowing the brain’s natural healing process to resume. EMDR works well with both children and adolescents and can be incorporated into traditional talk therapy. Because EMDR does not require extensive talking, many young people who feel uncomfortable with traditional therapy find they prefer this treatment method.
